SAF-T-CO SUPPLY, was founded in September 1987 by Patricia McDonald as its sole owner and stockholder. Patricia worked for the first two years as a home based business. In October 1989, SAF-T-CO expanded from 2 employees to 7 and moved to a new location in Santa Ana. In 1991, SAF-T-CO expanded to a new location in Santa Ana with an 11,000 sq. foot warehouse on 37,000 sq. feet of land and expanded from 7 to 25 employees over the six year period at this location. In June of 1997, SAF-T-CO made another move to it's present location of 1300 E Normandy Place, in Santa Ana. At this location, SAF-T-CO has 67,000 sq. feet of land and a 23,000 sq. foot building. SAF-T-CO has 52 employees, of which 80% are minorities and women. SAF-T-CO SUPPLY is a distributor of underground utility and electrical supplies and a fabricator of PVC, steel, and fiberglass fittings and bends.
SAF-T-CO is proud to have been involved in such projects as the Eastern Transportation Corridor, as well as many Caltrans freeway projects and the expansion of the Port of Los Angeles. SAF-T-CO continues to supply materials, under state and federal guidelines for a Woman Owned Business. SAF-T-CO currently supplies conduit for Verizon, SBC, A.T. & T., Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric. It also supplies many underground and electrical contractors in California, Nevada and Arizona. SAF-T-CO supply is certified as a woman owned business with the Public utilities commission, City of Los Angeles, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
In 1992, Patty was nominated by Senator John Seymore to the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, whose membership is limited to those nominated by Senators. She has received the Republican Senatorial Medal of Freedom from Senator Phil Gramm and was honored at a banquet in Washington D. C. The Medal of Freedom is the highest honor the Republican members of the U. S. Senate can bestow. Patty has currently received a Senatorial Commission from the Inner Circle.
In 1993 Patty was nominated for business woman of the year from the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce of which she is a member. Patty is also a regional council member for the National Association of Electrical Distributors.

SAF-T-CO is also proud to be a leader in our community. It supports many charitable organizations, including Child Help USA and the Wise Place shelter for homeless women in Santa Ana. SAF-T-CO also supports youth team sports in our community. . |
