Starting new construction in January 2013, this bridge quickly became revolutionary. Being one of the most crucial parts to the Ports of Long Beach, the bridge needed renovating that satisfies over 155 feet of vertical clearance above the Channel. Before the construction of the new bridge, it served 68,000 vehicle trips each day. With the wider build, we can only assume the amount of vehicle traffic with increase soon.
This bridge is now the second-tallest cable-stayed bridge in the United States and has the highest vertical clearance of this type of bridge in the U.S.
