In September of 1987, Patty McDonald started a small home-based company selling safety supplies. Realizing that there was a need for minority distributors for underground utility supplies, the company made a drastic switch. She soon expanded her company from 2 employees to 7 and decided to move to a larger location in Santa Ana.
In 1991, the company expanded again to a 11,000 square foot warehouse with over 37,000 square feet of land. Over the next 6 years Patty’s work force grew to 25 employees. With the rapid growing success, Saf-T-Co had their final move to their current location on Normandy Place. Today, Saf-T-Co Supply has over 60 employees, a fleet of 10 delivery trucks, and has tripled its warehouse capacity in Santa Ana, along with additional land in Norco.
Saf-T-Co is a leader in Southern California’s conduit distribution, and has onsite manufacturing departments to make specialty items for all your underground utility needs. Saf-T-Co is proud to be celebrating our 33rd year in business. Our success is due to an outstanding commitment to customer service and our very skilled, hard-working employees.
Since the beginning, Saf-T-Co has pride itself on being a woman-owned business. To this day, Saf-T-Co continues to supply materials under state and federal guidelines for a woman-owned business as a certified WBE (Women Business Enterprise).
